Div 1 QLD Superintendent: Glenn Stevens (e-mail: wm53glen @ bigpond.net.au)
The National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) is an international organisation committed to developing and promoting all aspects of model railroading. In order to better serve its members the organisation is divided into a number of regions, and the regions into Divisions. Queensland modellers are served by Division 1 of the Australasian Region (AR). Division 1 meetings are held bimonthly in member's homes. The Division also conducts occasional workshops for both novice and advanced modellers. SIGs are special interest groups operating within or affiliated with the NMRA. While NMRA SIG members must also be members of the NMRA, affiliated SIGs can have non-NMRA members. The goals of both are to promote modelling in particular areas of construction, operation, geography, prototype, commodity, etc. HO Module SIG [NMRA AR Div 1] CaneSIG: The sugar cane railway (tramline) modellers SIG [Affiliated] Narrow Gauge SIG [NMRA AR] The AR is the local point of contact for Australasian member services.
