- My interest is in scratchbuilding in 'O' scale (1/48). I model a generic US mining road set vaguely in the Arizona Copper Belt circa 1920 to 1940, with a touch of the long defunct Copper River & NW RR of Alaska, which took my fancy many years ago. The time setting justifies short trains and a preponderance of wood construction cars. Layout functionality and operations are of course limited by the large scale, but it's enough to get the feel of running a short line. The layout is about 85% scenicked, and I am currently working on structures to earn my seventh award under the NMRA's Achievement Program.

- I am modelling a fictional line running south from Pittsburgh to the C and O with connections to the Soo and further down . Will be calling it the Pittsburgh and Southern (or the PRR for short as they lease most of their equipment from that line). The B and O have trackage rights over the line so there is a fair amount of their equipment floating around.

(spken @ shasta.com.au)
-
I have been modelling in HO scale since 1955, and since 1958, I have spent
modelling the great Southern Pacific empire. My current layout - Shasta
Pacific Railroad - is being constructed in a 2-car garage behind my house
at Landsborough/Beerwah, (next door to Australia Zoo - Crikey). The layout
has 2 levels of trackwork completed & scenery has been commenced. Control
is by NCE (DCC) system including sound & accessory decoders. Tortoise &
Switchmaster units control mainline turnouts.
I joined the NMRA in 1963 and became a Life Member in 1975, also currently
a member of Caloundra Model Railroad Club & Life member of Gold Coast Model
Railway Workshop.

- USA steam to 1935, card order operation, Digitrax DCC, Soundtraxx Sound System. Currently building double shelf twice around each shelf in a 10.5m X 2.6m room with a 2m X 2.5m anexx for 2 helix (helices?). Mainline points wih point motors, rest ground throws. Hands on operation is uppermost on the 'Gulf & Northern'.

- My main interests in Model Railways are the early Diesels of the 40's, 50's and 60's in standard gauge and in Large scale. ie. 1:32/1:29 in G-scale. The Rio Grande and the Southern Pacific are my favourite Railroads but I also have a soft spot for QR, modelling in 1:24 scale where 45mm equals 3' 6". Our business Ferntree Garden Railways & Miniatures keeps us busy and my main job, teaching music to University and school students, even busier.

(nosovich @ bigpond.net.au)
- I have been interested in railways and modelling (HO scale) for about 20 years,
concentrating on New South Wales railways, particularly the far north coast area, and
the Casino - Murwillumbah branch line.
I have recently developed an interest in garden railways, and have an interest in
narrow guage logging rail operations. I have not settled on a particular prototype,
but have adopted a 'generic' approach to typical American logging railroads with a
scale of 1:20.3, and am scratchbuilding some rolling stock. Eventually, I would
like to graduate into live steam, with radio control... and recently I've done some
research on the logging operations at Canungra during the early 1900's, and intend to
model some of the logging wagons used by the Canungra tramway
operation.

- I am currently building a layout in HO scale encapsulating Queensland Railway
branchline operations interfacing with a sugar mill cane tramway
(HOn 3 1/2/ HOn 2 1/2). The branchline is on 12mm gauge track representing the
1067mm/3 feet 6 inches gauge of the prototype. The sugar mill tramway has 9 mm
gauge track. While a little wide to be 610 mm/ 2 feet gauge in HO, this is a
necessary compromise to achieve the utilisation of readily available N scale
mechanisms and wheel sets.

- HO steam West Coast US with a strong southern Pacific leaning. Love to built craftsman rolling stock kits and am just starting to build craftsman structure kits. A couple finished and serveral in different stages of completion. I'm currently in the process of buying a layout room with some accomadation
Attached and planning to attend the big show in St Louis this year. Very keen to get started on the NMRA's Master Modelers awards.
- Glenn Stevens
(wm53glen @ bigpond.net.au)
-
Glenn's modelling activity is centered around the North American prototype,
with the B&O and the Western Maryland his main focus, supplemented with a
shift west by a recently acquired interest in the CB&Q. Glenn has two
layouts under construction with track laid and wired, but with application
of scenery on hold.
The 8' x 4' "Connolly Springs" layout started life as a test track, however
is now being upgraded with the addition of a Y crossing the centre of the
oval leading to a small storage yard, and a small village centered around
the Y. The long term plan is to use "Connolly Springs" to hone his scenery
skills, aiming towards the NMRA Scenery Award.
The 12' x 2.5' "Marysville" started life as part of a much larger layout,
and is now an end to end layout based on the classic 'TIMESAVER' switching
layout. The operational premise of this layout is centered around a
passenger station, a small engine terminal, a small freight terminal, and
a team track. Glenn has hand laid Code 100 and Code 83 track, and one of
the points, with an aim towards the NMRA Civil Engineering Award.
Both layouts are wired for DC operation, however Glenn has recently
purchased an NCE Power Cab for DCC operation, which will be installed on
"Connolly Springs" in parallel to the DC power supply.

- My railroad is the 'Cape York Lines', an HO layout imagineered on the Santa Fe
servicing Cairns (Trinity) to the NASA Space Station on Cape York via the Cairns-
Kurunda Scenic Railway (upgraded by Santa Fe to 4' 8 1/2" gauge). 'That's my story
and I'm sticking to it.'
The layout features the Stoney Creek and Range: Mt Mulligan as standout items.
Trackwork is Shinohara Code 70 and Peco Code 75 nickle silver. Diesel locos are
Kato, Atlas and Lifelike. NMRA visitors are welcome, on a call first
basis.

- I live in Toowoomba, QLD and have been an NMRA member for about 5 years and I have finally sat down in front of the keyboard and worded the
story/photos of my railroad. The Oma Belt Railroad, Rock Ridge Subdivision is a 30 x 16 foot point to point (helper operations required) set in 1981.

- Lynn Zelmer
(lynn @ zelmeroz.com)
- Originally from Western Canada, Lynn still models some Pacific Northwest logging (HO/HOn3) but his major interest is modelling Queensland cane railways, where he's experimenting in HOn30 (aka 009), On30 and SM32. Lynn is also the
CaneSIG coordinator and has developed an on-line image collection for modellers (see the Links page).
