Background: The Bundaberg Jenbach diesel mechanical locomotive was the first Australian-built diesel locomotive for the sugar industry. This selection of photographs and drawings highlights the type of changes a cane locomotive could undergo through 45 years of upgrading and rebuilding.
As a model builder you need to decide which version of a locomotive you wish to model, and then obtain enough drawings and photographs to build a realistic model.
As built:
Bundaberg Jenbach D1 hauling RGR sugar wagons, North Eton, 2 Sept
1969. D1, North Eton Mill, 6wDM (diesel with mechanical transmission)
BJ100, CN 10 of 1953*. John Armstrong photo.
Bundaberg Jenbach D2, North Eton Mill, 2 Sept 1969. D2, North Eton
Mill, 6wDM BJ220, CN 13 of 1954*. John Armstrong photo.
Delivered in a dark green (army green?) livery, these locomotives were bright yellow when first seen by John Browning in 1975.
Alterations:

mid-1970 as built with Gardner Motor. R Gough photo.
North Eton, 4 October 1997. By this time North Eton Mill had closed
and the loco, originally North Eton 'D1',was 6 of Pleystowe Mill but
still lived at North Eton. Note original front end and ComEng cab.
